ABBIE
The story of Abbie Hoffman, performed on stage by Bern Cohen.

Tickets: $20; students, $10. [Purchase online here]

Abbie Hoffman embodies the Sixties like no other activist. As the most outspoken
leader of the counter-culture’s revolution, he remains one of the best-known figures
from one of America’s most turbulent times.

Abbie begins as a 1987 lecture delivered by Hoffman, and is based entirely on his speeches and writings. Historical photos and videos accompany Abbie’s telling of candid tales from his youth and education at Brandeis and Berkeley, and from the Chicago 7 and the debilitating experience of living underground—creating a revealing portrait of the man called “the clown prince of the Sixties.” Written with the permission of Hoffman’s wife.

“You couldn’t ask for a better meeting of subject and performer. . . .Abbie is heartfelt.”
Andy Webster, The New York Times

All proceeds will benefit Rivertown Film Society and Arts Angels.
