TICKET SALES END AT 6:00 PM ON SUNDAY. Our region may not be quite as much bear country as Durango is, where this film is shot, but we are increasingly likely to see these large animals on the streets of our villages and suburbs. Why is this happening? Can we coexist?

Dive headfirst into bear dens with biologists working to learn how human development affects bear behavior, in this one-time special screening of the award winning film, Bears of Durango. We’re streaming it ONLY on Sunday, August 9, at 6:00 PM. The film will be followed by a discussion with the filmmaker, Dusty Hulet, moderated by Suzanne Mitchell, board member of both Rockland Organized for Sustainability and a Safe Aquifer, and Rivertown Film.

COMMUNITY PARTNER: Rockland Organized for Sustainability and a Safe Aquifer (ROSA).
SCREENING: Sunday, August 16th, 6:00 PM
DISCUSSION: Sunday, August 16th, 7:30 PM

Tickets are $12, and $10 for members of Rivertown Film and Friends of ROSA.

“If we want our native biodiversity here, if we want these large carnivores to be back on our landscapes, ultimately we’re going to have to figure out, how do we coexist? How do we share a single landscape?” — Heather Johnson, PhD, Lead Wildlife Researcher, in Bears of Durango.
