Using time-lapse photography, his hauntingly beautiful videos capture ancient mountains as they vanish before us. Chasing Ice depicts a photographer at the end of his tether, delivering evidence, and hope. Post-film Discussion: Details to be announced. 2012, USA, 76 minutes, documentary, unrated

“Heart-stopping.” “Here is a film for skeptics who say ‘we don’t have enough information.’ ” – Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times

“With folks still recovering from the recent superstorm Sandy, the release of Chasing Ice seems particularly timely. The before and after imagery of Balog’s project speaks for itself, with the power and strange beauty of the evolving landscape strong evidence that something is indeed happening, now and fast.” – Mark Olson, Los Angeles Times

“Stunning. . .timely. . .a solitary quest with global implications.” [A Critics’ Pick] – Neil Genzlinger, The New York Times
