Studio 54 was the epicenter of 70’s hedonism, tolerance, glitz and glamour. It not only redefined the nightclub; it symbolized an entire era. Thirty-nine years later the velvet rope has been lifted, offering audiences a look inside through never before seen footage shot by Rockland County filmmaker Susan Shapiro and her producing partner, Glenn Albin, who received remarkable access to the club during its heyday. Studio 54 takes audiences on a tumultuous ride through the drug-and-sex-fueled disco and its eventual demise. USA, 98 minutes, documentary.
A benefit for L.E.A.F. (Legal Environmental Advocacy Fund), all tickets $15.

“Thrilling and definitive. Studio 54 was like a slice of ancient Rome on 54th St., so bedazzled by its delirium that it now looks almost innocent.” – Owen Gleiberman, Variety
