The Wild & Scenic Film Festival WILL GO ON despite Covid-19 social distancing. For the first time, this two-hour selection of 14, family-friendly short films curated from the nation’s largest environmental film festival will be presented as a FREE, live-streaming event beginning at 7pm on Wednesday, April 22nd, the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day. Join the PreShow program at 6:30.
This is a free event online, but you must register in advance. Access to this Earth Day screening will be available only to those who register, HERE.
ROSA4Rockland, the grassroots environmental non-profit, and Rivertown Film, Rockland’s only arts non-profit dedicated to motion pictures, have teamed up to present this creative and fun-filled evening of award-winning shorts that combine poignant story-telling and gorgeous cinematography. The event will be hosted by a live emcee, creating a film festival experience for all those watching from home.
The Wild & Scenic Film Festival celebrates the Earth’s beauty, the challenges facing our planet and the work communities are doing to protect it. The largest environmental film festival in the US launches in Nevada City, then tours the country, while making its way to Rockland County where a program of thirteen films is curated for our local audience. Once again, Rivertown Film is honored to partner with Rockland Organized for Sustainability and a Safe Aquifer (ROSA) to help bring Wild & Scenic to our region.
Don’t forget to REGISTER for this free environmental film festival, streaming on Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22, for free. Participants will receive a link to the festival streaming an hour or so before it begins.
Among this years films is A LIVING RIVER, about the Hudson River, by Hudson River Valley filmmaker Jon Bowermaster (photo below). “From the tiny Glass Eels to the massive 14 foot long Atlantic Sturgeon, a vital web of life defies decades of oppression.”
